Train-the-Trainer: Preparing Early Childhood Professionals for the Texas Trainer Registry
This comprehensive Train-the-Trainer course is designed for early childhood professionals who are ready to take the next step in their careers as professional development providers. Aligned with the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS), this course prepares participants to apply for recognition on the Texas Trainer Registry.

Over the course of 8 hours of live virtual instruction and 7 hours of self-paced learning, participants will:
- Explore best practices in adult learning and effective training design for early childhood audiences
- Learn how to build engaging, developmentally appropriate training content rooted in current research and aligned with Texas Core Competencies
- Understand the logistics and responsibilities of working as an independent or freelance early childhood trainer
- Gain insight into the TECPDS Trainer Registry requirements and submission process
As a culminating project, each participant will develop a complete training session, including objectives, agenda, and evaluation materials, ready for submission to TECPDS as part of their application.

Audrey Rowland has over 20 years of experience as an early childhood professional. Drawing from her expertise as a teacher and administrator, Audrey creates resources and provides professional development for early educators, administrators, parents, and policy-makers. She founded Green Space Learning, providing early childhood professional development for educators and creating play-based indoor and outdoor learning environments for early childhood programs. An engaging speaker and trainer, Audrey translates information into application. Audrey earned a MS from the University of North Texas in Child Development and Family Studies and a MBA from Texas Woman’s University. She is a Master Trainer with the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (#1743).
